Wendy Stark
President & CEO

Wendy Stark joined Planned Parenthood of Greater New York in October 2022, a defining moment for the reproductive rights movement and the affiliate.

As a life-long champion for equitable access to sexual and reproductive health care, Wendy brings nearly 30 years of leadership and advocacy experience in the health care space to PPGNY. From attending abortion rights rallies with her mother in high school to working as a patient care associate at a New York abortion center right out of college, Wendy has fought tirelessly to preserve and expand our right to reproductive freedom – advocating for both abortion access and LGBTQ+ rights, while providing high-quality care to communities in need.

In her previous role as Executive Director at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, Wendy was instrumental in the growth of the organization, doubling its healthcare capacity and expanding its geographical presence.  Under her leadership, the organization started a formal research and education program to advance LGBTQ+ health data as well as a policy and advocacy program to work toward health equity and justice. Wendy has played a critical role in numerous positive legislative advances in New York State to improve care for the communities PPGNY serves.

Wendy is a proud parent who loves cold brew coffee, word games of all kinds, and big dogs.

Bill Borner
Board Chair

Professionally, after college and law school, Bill practiced for twelve years at one of New York City’s largest law firms as a litigation attorney working on a wide variety of matters.  Bill also participated on several firm management committees, including those focusing on providing legal services for the public good and improving firm-wide diversity.

Bill left the law firm to join a manufacturing firm that has been in his family since 1936.  Among Bill’s primary responsibilities were strategic planning, executive compensation, financial planning, human resources, regulatory compliance, risk management/insurance, and all legal affairs of the company.  Ultimately, Bill became the President and a Director of the business, which grew to over 400 employees in eleven facilities located throughout the US, Europe, and Asia.

In 2014, Bill joined the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood of New York City, one of the five predecessor affiliates that merged to form PPGNY in January 2020.  At PPNYC, Bill served on the Executive, Governance, Finance, and Compensation Committees, and Chaired the Strategic Planning Committee. While at PPGNY, Bill has been a member of the Executive, Governance, and Finance Committees, as well as Chair of the Compensation Committee.

Bill has also served on the Boards of other institutions.  Since 2007, Bill has been a member of the Board of Trustees of LIM College, a 1,600-student college in New York City offering undergraduate and graduate degrees to students seeking careers in the fashion business.  For the last eleven years, Bill has been the Chair of the Board, and helped form the College’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, of which he is a founding member.  He is also a former Chair of the College’s Finance and Budget Committee.
